Men’s Breakfast This Saturday

Posted by chuckmusselwhite on June 7, 2007

Breakfast_large
We are having our monthly men’s breakfast this Saturday morning at The Village Chapel. Last month was off the charts as we had men from several different churches join us. It was a great time of fellowship. I want to invite all the men of our church and outside to join us at 7:30am. We will not run out of food this time plus you really want to see if Frank sets himself on fire again!

We will be continuing our study on God’s Mighty Men.

One More Try

Posted by chuckmusselwhite on June 6, 2007

Ucla_fatheadLast Christmas I asked for a fathead but I got no takers. This Father’s day I thought I would try it one more time in hopes that someone can convince my wife to get me one. So if you see my wife hit her up. :) They have this new feature where you can send a gift request for what you want. There is an email waiting in her inbox now.

Road Rules

Went for a ride up Miguelito Canyon today which is a tough ride. Here is an observation that I had:

When going down hill on your bike keep your mouth closed
It reduces resistance and prevents unwanted visitors.

Renewed Fervor

Posted by chuckmusselwhite on June 5, 2007

Over the last 24 hours there had been several events that God has used to bring focus and clarity to what I am doing at The Village Chapel. When God called us to Vandenberg Village he also said that we would do a new work. We have held to that promise and continually seek for Him to bring that about. What has brought such clarity is God speaking through several events.

First was the Picture I posted that Rene sent. God sparked something in me that thought that picture. He showed me what was capable through our church on the property we are at.

Second has been the spiritual attack that been happening lately. Satan would love nothing more than to destroy the work going on here by causing division. If he can get us focused on something else then we loose effectiveness. I also heard that someone is complaining to the county about our sign. All of these are attacks straight from the enemy.

Finally I was reminded that we are on the right track by the criticism we receive from inside the body of Christ. People don’t want change and they lash out at anything new.

All of these together have shown me that God is doing a new work here and we are focused with a renewed fervor to allow Him to do it.

A View From Above

The_village_chapelRene Lopez sent this to me. It is a picture from above of The Village Chapel. Pretty cool and it gives you a good sense of the property and what kind of ministry could go one there. Click on the picture to see a bigger image.

Sunday Reflections

Posted by chuckmusselwhite on June 4, 2007

Just a few thoughts on yesterdays services:

  • Our new electronic drum set was incredible! Really leveled off the noise factor and it was a good mix and I don’t even know about that stuff. Joe has the worship team growing and moving in the right direction.
  • Where are these people coming from? Had multiple guest cards today and that was about half of the visitors. Several people are coming back for 3rd and 4th visits.
  • The Holy Spirit is really moving through the messages in Luke. I prepare but God gets involved and goes a different direction. Pretty cool because I feel it is hitting home.
  • I was wiped after the 2nd service was done. I had been up since 3:30am with Caleb and I hit the wall.
  • People are getting pumped up for our small groups. We have several that are going to start in the next few weeks. Want to think of a cool name for them instead of small groups or home fellowships.
  • The youth BBQ went off huge! The Teft’s and the Aguilar’s are doing a great job with their team
  • It is obvious that our church gets excited about donuts when we have them. Thought a riot was going to break out.

A Moment of Silence

Posted by chuckmusselwhite on June 2, 2007

DonovanLet us have a moment of silence as the University of Florida lost its coach. Bummer. Coming from a UCLA fan it was short lived and I really enjoyed being the first one to call Chip and tell him. It had a sweet feeling to it.

Anyways best of luck to the Gators and Magic.

I could get into this series

Posted by chuckmusselwhite on June 2, 2007

NbaWatched the last game of the Eastern conference series tonight and it was good. I gotta tell you that I am glad not to see the Pistons win. Just don’t like them. For once in a long time I am actually interested in the NBA finals. I actually might watch a few games of it. Congrats to Cleveland for its first trip into the finals. Hope it is a memorable one.
