I was alerted by a parent on November 29th that a ******* *** Offender was staying at the White Oak Hotel. A letter was circulated by Lompoc HS reporting the same thing also. I talked with the Hotel and they have no record of him staying there. No that may not mean much but after checking with the local authorities we found out that he has moved on since this report.
We will take extra precautions this weekend at our services by having guards by the bathroom and allowing no children to go to the bathroom alone. We have worked out an arrangement with the hotel to shut the passage way between the church and hotel.
At 4:50 PM on Friday evening I made a call to Chief Tim Dabney of Lompoc PD and he told me that this man had stayed a couple of nights at the hotel earlier this week and was now in Goleta.

Still processing everything from yesterday. With it being a holiday weekend you never know what is going to happen. God showed up. I encourage you to listen to the podcast when it is uploaded in Tuesday.
- Bill and the worship band were rockin. Loved the Third Day song.
- There was so much good imagery from the text this week. I talked about being prepared in the context of our waists being girded and our lamps buring
- So much cool foreshadowing with the wedding imagery as well
- Had a lot of fun studying for it
- Had some good conversations with people
- Starting to see more and more people get plugged in
- Paul and his boys had the church grounds looking awesome!
- I am continually amazed at how many people have made the commitment to the 11:15 service
- Going to three services was tough but it was one of the best moves we have made

College Football has turned into a mess. LSU lost today which is a good thing but a mess for the Bowl Championship Series. (If you aren’t into this kind of stuff I encourage you to stop reading because it will only get more confusing as I write.) LSU was the #1 team in America but now they will drop pretty low. The new #1 will be between three teams who haven’t really played anybody difficult this season. #2 Kansas plays #4 Missouri in a battle of the border and boring. These teams combined have only played three teams with a winning record. West Virginia will play UConn it the Weak East for the championship. All these teams have had incredibly easy schedules and have unimpressed in most of their games. This is the year it pays to play mediocrity (unless of course you are Michigan or Notre Dame).
We could have a national championship game with Kansas vs. Ohio State. Is there anybody not from the Mid-West interested in this game? What I am hoping for now is they will schedule USC vs. LSU in the Rose Bowl. That will be the game everybody wants to watch with the bonus being that is will be on New Years Day which is where all the important games should be. The real bad part of this is that the BCS is so whacked. You have Hawaii, who is undefeated and has played a schedule comparable to #2 Kansas, and Boise State which is 11-1 both hanging out at #1 5 & #19. Because they are not in one of the seven power conferences they get no respect, or really they get shut out because the other conferences are greedy.
College football has been lousy and great this year. Teams expected to win have lost and we have seen some incredible games. What is lousy is that is all a money play with Universities jockeying for millions of dollars. It will work itself out and some great games will be seen. I just hope somebody can make sense out of this mess.

We are in moving mode…kinda. Not too motivated right now because we moved exactly one year ago. But that is a good thing because we didn’t unpack a lot. Today we weeded. We (when I say we I mean Jen) went through every room and cleaned out stuff we want to throw away or donate. In a strange way the house seams cleaner even though we haven’t cleaned. I am starting to break down my office but that is a task because I don’t know where I am going to take it. We aren’t setting up one at the new house and there isn’t room for my desk or other stuff at the church. Oh well, we’ll figure it out. I am really excited to get into the new house but my motivation for packing up here is still pretty low.

We are almost done shopping and I haven’t entered a store or touched a mouse. My wife has been tearing up the internet this morning and we have a good grip on what we are going to get the kiddies. With Allies birthday coming up we have a double whammy but we are on top of it.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year when I don’t have to shop just approve my wife’s selections. Where’s the Christmas Fudge?

We just got done signing all of our papers for our new house and my hand is cramping. I counted and I offically signed my name and initials 172 times! Geez. We officially own our little piece of heaven in the Village. Excited to move in but we won’t get the keys until next week sometime because of the Holidays. Bummer but it means we can rest over the next couple of days instead of painting and doing a few improvements. Looking forward to a couple days of down time. Need to get recharged after a crazy month plus.

Read these words from Lloyd Carr who retired as the Michigan Football Coach today:
By your own soul, learn to live.
If some men thwart you, take no heed.
If some men hate you, have no care.
Sing your song. Dream your dream.
Hope your hope and pray your prayer.
Pakenham Beatty, Irish Poet
Pretty awesome words to live by.

I was told a really cool story of something that happened at church yesterday. My wife was bringing the kids to church yesterday because she was not feeling well. As she was driving through Lompoc a lady behind her saw her bumper sticker which is a cross that says: "Jesus is Lord." As soon as the lady saw it the Holy Spirit prompted her to follow the car. She followed my wife all the way to The Village Chapel in Vandenberg Village and right into the parking lot of the church. She had heard that there was a new church in the Village and when she saw it she got so excited she went and got her daughter and granddaughter who live around the corner from the church and brought them! I called Kevin who is the one who makes the stickers and he was totally stoked. Pretty Cool how God works.
