The Village Life

Before Jen and I moved to the Lompoc area we lived in Santa Maria for ten years. My wife was actually born and raised in Santa Maria but we moved there in 1997. We love Santa Maria and still own a house, have tons of family, and lots of friends still there. We moved to Lompoc in December 2006 and lived on the southside of Lompoc for a year. Then we moved to Vandenberg Village in December of 2007 and started living the Village Life. After being here for the last two years we wouldn’t change a thing.
Just last week we were in Santa Maria several times for different reasons and we both came away with this thought; “Santa Maria has gotten crazy busy!” Maybe we were numb to it before but we don’t remember the traffic being so bad. There have been several new shopping centers built in the center of town and it has made going to Costco or other places more difficult.
It has made us realize that we love the Village Life. Honestly there are very few places like it on the Central Coast. If there were a few more amenities here we would probably never leave. The pace is slow and the neighborhood is great! We are looking forward to lots of years living the Village Life.
