  1. Hello Pastor Chuck,
My name is Pilgrim Benham and I am the youth pastor at Calvary Chapel Sarasota, Florida. I accidentally stumbled across your church website and read your testimony and am really in kind of the same place you seemed to be before planting your church. My wife and I have been full-time at our church doing youth/young adult home fellowships for 7+ years now. We sense the call of God to plant a church and have moved forward but our senior pastor feels we should wait and pray, that other opportunities may present themselves, so we are submitting to he and the elders’ wisdom, but it isn’t always easy!:)
Just thought I would send you a note and ask if you had any encouragement from your experiences…
Just trying to learn the easy way from those who have gone before us!!!

Thanks and may God continue to richly bless you and your ministry!
    His,
    Pilgrim Benham

    Hi Chuck

Well, if you’re in London you could:

Visit the British Library – currently they have an exhibition of sacred texts, including the Codex Sinacticus (2nd Century New Testament) Not sure how much longer that runs for. [Free: Nearest tube probably Kings Cross/St Pancras]

Tate Modern [http://www.tate.org.uk/] – Once a power station, now a modern art gallery on the south side of the Thames. [Free, except for specific exhibits] – best tip. Get the tube to St Paul’s [http://www.stpauls.co.uk/] – have a look at the Cathedral and then walk over the bridge (affectionately known as the wobbly bridge [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_Bridge_(London)])before going into the Tate.

Westminster – Get the tube to Westminster. Have a look at the Houses of Parliament. Walk up Whitehall to Trafalgar Square. Either visit museums or turn left and walk along the Mall to Buckingham Palace.

That’s all free. If you want museums, get the tube to South Kensington and follow the signs to either the British Museum [http://www.britishmuseum.org/] or the Natural History Museum [http://www.nhm.ac.uk/]

Of course, the other tip is to get lunch in a London pub and watch the world go by with a copy of the Times, or a good book. It all depends on what you like doing.

Enjoy, and try not to spend too much.

Hey Chuck! My family and I just drove through Santa Maria on our way home and I spotted the church where you and Jennifer were married…12 years ago?!! Just thought I’d google you to see if I could find out where you are and your blog popped up! Gotta love the Internet (and iPhones!). Hope you are well and tell Jen I’d love to catch up with her sometime. I think last time we connected you only had one baby! God has blessed you both!
